In 1988 several MRI managers attended a MRI Success Seminar in Green Bay, Wisconsin. All of the participants were aware of the need for information to provide guidance for managers in this dynamic new modality. One of the issues discussed was the need to form a network dedicated exclusively for those who manage MRI facilities, both free-standing and hospital based.

Although there are several established and excellent professional groups in existence, the scope of those organizations accommodate a broad range of imaging services.

Recognizing the unique aspects inherent to MRI management, the Magnetic Resonance Managers Society (MRMS) was established to promote the professional growth of its membership, create a network for MRI managers and support educational needs by hosting an annual MRI conference, and publishing quarterly newsletters.

Mission Statement
The Magnetic Resonance Managers Society is a non-profit organization committed to:

  • Advancing the profession of management of magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Establishing a network of communication among MRI managers.
  • Assisting in establishing and advancing high standards of training and education in magnetic resonance imaging.
